What is Facial Rejuvenation Massage?

Facial Rejuvenation Massage (or Natural Facelift Massage, as it is also known) was developed by Kundan Mehta and first taught in the UK in 2000.  It is a holistic treatment grounded in Ayurvedic principles and is performed entirely with the hands, without the use of oils and creams.

I personally love the benefits that quality organic skincare can bring to the complexion.  Therefore, I have adapted the Pamper Me Organic Facial Rejuvenation Massage to incorporate some exquisite certified organic skincare to further enhance the overall experience.  The beauty of Facial Rejuvenation Massage is its flexibility.  If you prefer a completely "productless" treatment, for whatever reason, this can be easily achieved by simply extending the duration of the massage, focusing on specific areas of concern on the face and/or neck.

How does it work?

The treatment works primarily by freeing constrictions within the facial muscles and connective tissue.  Tension can build up in our facial muscles from the pressures of everyday life without us realising because thoughts and emotions become habitual and lock themselves into our facial expressions.

A typical Facial Rejuvenation treatment begins with relaxation and energy balancing, followed by the activation of specific acupressure points on the face.  Friction movements with varying degrees of pressure are then applied all over the face and neck to detect areas of tension and encourage the letting go of habitual facial expressions.

One side of the face is then worked on with Ayurvedic smoothing techniques to remove dead skin cells and "iron out" fine lines and wrinkles.  Deeper techniques are used to release restrictions in the connective tissue of the dermis and lift the underlying facial muscles.  Circulation and elimination are improved and the tissues become more mobile.

Half way through the first treatment, you can sit up to compare the treated and untreated sides of the face.  Most people will notice subtle yet perceptible differences even at this early stage.  The same techniques are then repeated on the other side of the face and the treatment finishes with lymphatic drainage, scalp massage and grounding techniques.

It is an incredibly relaxing treatment despite being a genuine workout for the face and neck.

How many treatments will I need?

The muscles of the face differ from those of the body in that they are directly attached to the skin that covers them.  This means that when the facial muscles sag the skin attached to them sags too.

The overall effect of the Facial Rejuvenation Massage has been described as a gym workout for the face but with deeply relaxing effects on the whole body.  Just like exercising regularly helps keep the muscles in the body toned, regular Facial Rejuvenation Massages will keep the facial muscles toned.

Although some difference can usually be seen and felt after just one treatment, the effects are cumulative and work best over a course of six weekly (no less than fortnightly) treatments, followed by monthly maintenance treatments.

Compared to some anti-ageing facial procedures available today, Facial Rejuvenation Massage does not carry any negative side effects.  As well as visible benefits, clients often report feeling more relaxed, sleeping better, and relief from sinus problems and various stress related symptoms.
